This year Filwood Broadway, in Knowle West, is being transformed as part of the £14.5 million Levelling Up Fund. As building work takes place on the street, our Artists-in-Residence Rachael Clerke and Linzy Na Nakorn are leading a year of collective making and street action for all ages; ‘Filwood in Motion’.
In April, they hosted creative drop-ins which resulted in a fabulous parade. In May, their creative drop-ins have been towards creating a one-off community newspaper. All submissions are welcome here – short stories, opinions, memories, horoscopes, histories, illustrations, poems etc. Both fact and fiction are equally encouraged!
The newspaper will be launched at an exciting press-conference-style event at 5pm on Thursday 29th May, including a buffet and an area recreating Knowle West TV from the 70s
Location: No.8 Filwood Broadway or on the green next to the play park if the weather’s nice. Food will be served til it runs out! Vegan & GF options available.
