Ready? S.E.T! Start collecting!

30/10/2022
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

How can we make data collection something that cares for us, particularly as trans* and disabled people?

Join Berlin based artists MELT to explore how personal stories and collections can become data (or not!). We will share collected objects and playfully ask questions. The event will be automatically captioned and accessible online and in person.

This workshop is part of Control Shift’s new Feeling Machines programme: a programme of events and artworks about our intimate relationships with technologies. KWMC are proud to be venue partners of Control Shift, providing space to host their workshops and events.

Before you come to the workshop we invite you to try and collect objects, materials or feelings for the duration of one week. It could be a selection of stones from walks you have taken, or a list of every machine you touched in the last week… it could be that feeling you felt every time you arrived back home, a collection of plants you are sprouting, all the nail polish that you wore, or the poems you read, it could be…. it could be… bring a set, something that tells a story about your daily life.

Together we will transform these collections into propositions for shapeshifting the boundaries of data.
